The addition to the church actually looks like a building now and it is exciting to see the work progressing so well.

Yesterday I was notified that I had inherited $470,000! Amazing but as it turned out it was just another Internet scam perpetrated by David Attah of Nigeria. Internet scam is the third largest industry in Nigeria. I have received several suspicious emails from Nigeria. It appears that we Christians used to dealing with other Christians who are honest and trustworthy are prime targets for these scams. Use an Internet search engine to check out any suspicious email that you receive and never send these people any money without checking with an attorney in your own country.

Tomorrow is our Men's Breakfast and Sunday the two sermon series (Unwrapping the Gift and It's a Wonderful Life) continue. Our choir is performing their cantata at the assisted living center at Elk City Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Should be fun.

We have another grandson soon to be arriving. Libby goes into the hospital next Tuesday for them to induce labor. An exciting time in our lives!

Yesterday morning about 5:30 am as I was going over to the church to walk and pray my way was blocked by a skunk. I decided to use the treadmill in the garage instead. Sometimes obstacles are for our benefit. Today I drove my car over to the church.

About noon yesterday Sweetwater, Oklahoma had some visitors. Firefighters from Houston were waiting at the store for the New York Firefighters who are bicycling across the country. The finally made it and headed west across the Texas panhandle. Several years ago a couple from Maine were cycling across the country from Washington state to Maine and they came through Sweetwater. They spent the night here camping outside the church.

Work on the new addition for the church is progressing and we put up about half of the trusses for the roof and hope to put up the rest this morning.

Well, I'm back! The last few weeks have been difficult with Billy being close to death and dying a week ago Sunday morning. His funeral was last Wednesday.

Church Sunday was good with better attendance. No decisions but a good spirit.

Ronnie Floyd's book has inspired me and I was up at five this morning. Actually woke up before my alarm went off and felt refreshed. Spent about an hour praying and going through memory verses. Thirty minutes of that time was walking around the sanctuary while praying. Then spent another hour reading Bible and devotional books. A wonderful time with the Lord!! I would recommend it to everyone.
