Sunday is another big day for our church with Ryan Baker coming in view of a call to be our new youth director. I am excited about this and I believe the young people and everyone in our church is becoming excited about it as well.

The south wing of our church building is a disaster area with all of the construction. Thankfully, it should be completed in a few weeks.

Our grandson's sugery went reasonable well. Not everything is perfect but no major problems right now. I'm sure he will face many challenges along with his family in the years to come but God will walk with them through each one.
The Bible is so wonderful! I recently found this little story which was published in the American Bible Society Record in March of 1990. Here it is: Gaylord Kambarami, the General Secretary of the Bible Society in Zimbabwe, tried to give a New Testament to a very belligerent man. The man insisted he would roll the pages and use them to make cigarettes. Mr. Kambarami said, "I understand that, but at least promise to read the page of the New Testament before you smoke it." The man agreed, and the two went their separate ways.
Fifteen years later, the two men met at a convention in Zimbabwe. The Scripture-smoking pagan had found Christ and was now a full-time evangelist. He told the audience, "I smoked Matthew, and I smoked Mark, and I smoked Luke. But when I got to John 3:16, I couldn't smoke anymore. My life was changed from that moment." Aren't you glad God's Book is more than just words on paper?
